Since 1920, Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) has been dedicated to carrying on the spiritual and humanitarian work of its founder, Paramahansa Yogananda, widely revered as the father of Yoga in the West.
SRF is a worldwide religious organization with international headquarters in Los Angeles. As expressed in the Aims and Ideals formulated by Paramahansa Yogananda, the society seeks to foster a spirit of greater understanding and goodwill among the diverse peoples and religions of our global family, and to help those of all cultures and nationalities to realize and express more fully in their lives the beauty, nobility, and divinity of the human spirit.
Paramhans Yoganand Ashram, Lalitpur
Yoganand Ashram, Lalitpur was founded in year 2004 by a devotee (Shri Ramesh Kiledar) of the great great Shri Paramhans Yoganand Ji. The main Ashram is situated in the heart of the town, while two more centers are there to spread the learning and yoga among the residents.
Paramahansa Yogananda (1893 — 1952) is considered one of the preeminent spiritual figures of modern times.
Author of the best-selling spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi, this beloved world teacher has introduced millions of readers to the perennial wisdom of the East. He is now widely recognized as the Father of Yoga in the West. He founded Yogoda Satsanga Society of India in (1917) and Self-Realization Fellowship in (1920), which continue to carry on his spiritual legacy worldwide under the leadership of Sri Sri Mrinalini Mata, one of his closest disciples.
